...turning students into world-changing followers of Jesus Christ

The primary vehicle through which we accomplish our mission is a loving relationship. We desire to raise up and empower leaders to build loving relationships with students through which they can communicate the truths of how to follow Christ while offering themselves as living examples.

Our mission is accomplished through five main aspects of BSM.

We gather on Sunday mornings to celebrate our abundant life in Christ through fellowship, worship, teaching and activities.

Jr. High meets at 9:00 am in the White House (the house next to the church).
Sr. High meets at 10:30 am in the White House...AND
at 9:00 am for O/T Retro (an Old Testament survey) will meet in the upper room...OR
at 9:00 am for N/T Edge (a New Testament survey) will meet in the lower conference room.

These small-group bible studies take place in the homes of students and leaders for the purpose of studying God's truths, building relationships, and holding each other accountable as we go through life together.  Truth comes from the study of the inerrant Word of God.  Relationships with peers and a mentor allow the students to receive intimate care, encouragement, prayer and support within the large group of BSM.  This is where discipleship really happens.  Led by adult leaders, students can feel comfortable asking the tougher questions about life and our relationship with God.    This is the model Jesus gave us with his disciples.  He began His ministry by recruiting a small group of men and teaching them His ways and truths.  And these were the same men who first took those truths into the world.

These groups typically meet on Wednesday evenings.  More Info!

The ministry of Bethany extends beyond the walls of the church and onto the school campuses of the Coulee Region.  Whether it is a program leader joining a student at lunch or a Cell Group leader attending a football game, the relationships are being built and strengthened.  Outreach to the campus is not dependent on the youth workers alone; the students are daily entrenched in our local mission fields.  We offer many opportunities for students to invite their friends to get involved at a non-threatening level.  Relationships form because we want to be where the students are; that can happen at a game, a concert, in someone's living room, or at a lunch table in the school cafeteria.  Jesus came to earth to restore man's relationship with Him.  We want to model that same approach by meeting students on their own turf.

Community Building Experiences
are held to remove students from their daily routine in order for them to have an out of the ordinary experience in the context of Christ-centered truth and relationships. These experiences deepen relationships, communicate truth, attract new students, accomplish set goals, provide life experience and allow us to just plain have FUN!!! (...which, of course, deepens relationships).

BSM experiences can be categorized into 3 types:

  1. Large - any activity that includes all members of either the Junior High or Senior High ministry...i.e. camps, retreats, outreach events, service projects, etc.

  2. Medium - a more concentrated group focusing on an activity with limited enrollment...i.e. mission trips, class distinctive events, etc.

  3. Small - an activity that is attended by a very limited number of students such as one or two cell groups and is not promoted across BSM...i.e. cell group bowling/pizza night, cell group service projects, cell group camp-outs etc.

Here is a list of  Community Building Experiences scheduled throughout this year.

The service aspect of BSM provides opportunities for students to serve Christ within the body of Bethany Church as well as in the local communities of the Coulee Region.  Service enables students to be equipped for ministry while they experience God working through them.  Also, service enables the students to be integrated into the local body of Bethany Church as well as the greater body of Christ.

Service opportunities includes:  Serving on BSM tech or worship teams, mission trips, Cell Group service projects, Bethany Children’s Ministry, Bethany hospitality teams, Bethany tech and worship teams,  etc.
